Day to Day Itinerary

1
Day 1

Arrive in Vilanculos

From Johannesburg, board a direct flight to the town of Vilanculos in Mozambique for the start of your island honeymoon experience.

On arrival you will be met by a representative of Azura and assisted with your short, 10-minute helicopter transfer to Azura Benguerra Island. On arrival you will meet your local butler-host, who will take care of your every need and request during your stay. Check in to your luxurious beach villa, set on the beach with private deck and plunge pool. Settle in and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure or why not head out for a beach walk, ocean swim or sunset dhow cruise to explore the island further? Dinner here is always a special event, enjoyed on the beach by candlelight beneath the stars whenever we can.

Day 2

Explore Benguerra Island

From your beach villa, the Benguerra Island and surrounding ocean awaits to be explored today.

The lodge offers a wide range of activities including ocean safaris, dhow cruises, horse riding, 4x4 drives, beach picnics, island hopping by speedboat, kayaking, snorkeling and scuba diving. The Azura African Spa is also available for those special honeymoon treatments. A delicious lunch can be enjoyed as per your wishes, either on the beach or one of the nearby islands as a picnic lunch. Azura Benguerra Island's public areas are right on the beach and open to the sea. Here you will find several different zones for your enjoyment and relaxation, from the comfortable lounge area, to the vibey Star Bar, and our fabulous wine cellar offering a selection of the owner’s wines, especially flown in from their Chateau in France. The Jellyfish Restaurant offers breakfast and more formal dining. There is a media room for those needing TV and internet access, a boutique at reception, and our Padi 5 Star dive centre with top of the range Scubapro equipment. To celebrate the start of your honeymoon, a special dinner can be arranged by your host.

You can choose to partake in any of the leisure activities on offer here, or rather stay at your villa and enjoy the peace and serenity and beauty of the area at the lodge. Departure

After breakfast, enjoy the morning at leisure before you check out. Say your final goodbyes, before making your way back to Vilanculos by helicopter. From here you will fly directly to Johannesburg.
