Entebbe: Uganda’s Hidden Gem

Entebbe may be a hidden jewel for many people, but for locals, it is a home that has been overlooked as a tourist destination for too long, and an unspoiled location that is seeing global travelers embark on unique Uganda guided tours that they will never forget. The small town of Entebbe is located along the shores of Lake Victoria, approximately 45 minutes from the capital city of Kampala. Known as the home of the old airport, it’s a place most people don’t consider for their bucket list. But this quiet little town is well on its way to becoming one of the hottest luxury Uganda safari destinations. Entebbe was named by a man called Mugaluka, a former leader of the people living in the area. At the time, the place where Entebbe is now was just a forest called Mugaluka Hill. At the foot of the hill was an area covered by reeds called Entebbe – hence Mugaluka’s choice of name.
