A Fish River Canyon Hiking Adventure

The approximately 90km unguided trail is not easy and takes up to 5 days to complete. All hikers need to be self-sufficient carrying enough supplies, while you also camp out under the stars every night. The amazing views along the route makes the exertion worthwhile and the hike unforgettable. Bookings need to be made in advance as only a limited number of hikers are allowed on the trail per day. Hiking is only allowed between the cooler months of May and September. While in the canyon you may be lucky enough to see a range of animals as well as interesting reptiles and insects.
The Healing Power of The Ai-Ais Resort Natural Hot Springs
Ai-Ais, which means “burning water” in one of the local languages, refers to the sulphurous hot springs which are found in this area. The Ai Ais resort is located at the southern end of the Fish River Canyon and is famous for its hot sulphur springs upon which the resort is built and all the water in the resort is heated by the natural hot springs. The healing properties of the natural hot springs at Ai Ais are said to be particularly good for rheumatism but they provide relaxing bathing and swimming for everyone, young or old.
