Day to Day Itinerary

Day 1

On arrival in South Africa, board a flight from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world and is a must-visit site for any traveler. The local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya", the smoke that thunders and the Zambezi River and its epic waterfall forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Victoria falls is 1 708 meters wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world. On arrival you will be met by our experienced ground crew and transferred to Victoria Falls River Lodge, the first private game lodge to be built in the Zambezi National Park. Situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River – the lodge is so close to the world-renowned Victoria Falls one can see the spray in the distance. On arrival, check in and enjoy a drink on the deck before departing on a Zambezi sunset cruise, one of the best ways to soak in the magnificence of the mighty Zambezi. Sit back and let the gentle ebb and flow of the Zambezi lull and relax you. Join in on Mother Nature’s Happiest Hour by sipping on a sundowner whilst viewing her creatures, big and small, coming to the water’s edge.

Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park, the largest Park in Zimbabwe is located in the northwest corner of the country about one hour south of the mighty Victoria Falls. Hwange National Park’s 1.4 million hectares support a mix of habitats ensuring large numbers of animals all year round – elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and even gemsbok. Hwange boasts a tremendous selection of wildlife with over 100 species of mammals and nearly 400 bird species recorded.

Lake Kariba

Lake Kariba lies along the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. In terms of volume, it is the largest man-made lake in the world. Lake Kariba was created after the completion of the Kariba Dam in 1959. Kariba’s fertile shores and a perennial supply of freshwater also attract a wealth of wildlife. The lake is a haven for birdlife, most of which is found along the lake shores and on its islands. Birding, game-viewing and tiger-fishing are popular activities on Lake Kariba. The most rewarding area for safari trips is Matusadona National Park, located on the Zimbabwe side to the west of Kariba Town, home to the Big 5.

Mana Pools National Park

Situated in the northern region of Zimbabwe, on the southern banks of the Zambezi River, Mana Pools National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site is a wildlife-rich, biodiverse wilderness area. You can expect to spot hippopotamus, crocodile, elephants and a wonderful array of birds here and there’s a good chance of seeing the resident lions and wild dog hunting around waterholes and close to the River.
