What to expect?

On arrival in South Africa, board a flight from OR Tambo International Airport, Johannesburg to Victoria Falls Airport, Zimbabwe.

The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world and is a must-visit site for any traveler. The local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya", the smoke that thunders and the Zambezi River and its epic waterfall forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Victoria falls is 1 708 meters wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world.

On arrival you will be met by our experienced ground crew and transferred to your hotel.

The Victoria Falls Hotel was the very first hotel to be built in Victoria Falls. The hotel exudes original Edwardian charm but recent refurbishments offer guests the modern comforts one would expect from a luxury hotel. The hotel lies within a vast manicured garden which has an unobscured view of the Victoria Falls bridge and the spray of the Falls. A private path leads guests from the gardens to the entrance of the Victoria Falls rainforest in an easy 10 minute stroll. The Victoria Falls Hotel has a charm and energy like no other, offering excellent service in a world class setting.

On arrival, check in, relax and settle in at the hotel. Lunch can be enjoyed at the hotel.

Later in the afternoon you will be collected for your welcoming sunset cruise on the majestic Zambezi River. Enjoy snacks and drinks, while viewing the wide variety of animal and bird life on the riverbanks, including hippo’s, crocodiles and a wide variety of antelope.

Dinner can be enjoyed at the hotel.

After breakfast, you will be collected at the hotel for your morning guided tour of the Falls.

During this 2 – 3-hour tour guests will be accompanied through the rainforest and your guide will give you a brief history of the Falls as well as detailing the flora, fauna, bird & wildlife and other points of interest. You will make your way along the designated path which takes you to the 16 view points along the edge. The heart-pounding sensation of actually standing on the edge of the precipice above the raging Zambezi waters is something quite unforgettable. Raincoats are provided when needed.

After your guided tour the rest of the day will be at leisure. Additional activities can be arranged for you on request.
Tonight, dinner is served at The Boma Restaurant from 7PM.

This is a legendary 4-course dining and entertainment experience that offers an unforgettable fusion of mouth-watering local cuisine, spirited dance performances, interactive drumming and traditional storytelling.

After breakfast you will check out and be collected at your hotel.

You will enjoy a direct road transfer from your hotel to your lodge in Hwange National Park. The transfer is approximately 1-2 hours in duration on a good tar road.

On arrival at the main gate of the Park you will be met by a representative of The Hide and will travel by open 4x4 vehicle to the lodge. You can expect to see a wide variety of wildlife during this drive, so have your camera ready!

On arrival, check in, relax and unwind. Lunch can be enjoyed at the lodge, after which you will enjoy your first afternoon safari activity.

The Lodge
The Hide has set a bar of excellence and luxury for Hwange National Park accommodation and is consistently voted as one of the “Best Safari Lodges” in Zimbabwe. Located in a prime position in the Park, The Hide offers a life-enriching safari experience for its guests.
The hub of the camp is the signature “A” frame which houses the dining room, a downstairs sun lounge and a large comfortable lounge / viewing area upstairs. There is also plunge pool near the main lounge and dining room. All looks out on the nearby, active waterhole.
The deluxe tents have a myriad of different configurations with indoor and/or outdoor bathtubs and showers. They are fan cooled for your comfort in summer and have extra warm blankets and hot water bottles for the cool winter months. Each has a private veranda from where guests may be entertained by the comings and goings of a large variety of game at the waterhole.

Because the lodge is situated in its own private concession, a 5 km square area in Zimbabwe’s largest national park, the range of activities on o?er is varied and more exciting. There is no typical day at The Hide as it really depends on you how much or little you would like to do.
The lodge offers morning, afternoon and evening game drives and bush walks. Furthermore, you can also enjoy fantastic birding and access to hidden, waterhole-facing hides for a close-up view of the animals.

The waterhole at The Hide is particularly special, being the only source of permanent water for a good-sized area. So even if you don’t feel like venturing out, you will still be able to enjoy seeing the daily visitors to the camp.

After your last morning safari activity in Hwange, and breakfast, say your final goodbyes and check out. From here you will enjoy a short transfer to the nearby airstrip.

From here you will enjoy a charter flight transfer to your lodge located in Matusadona National Park on Lake Kariba. The flight is approximately 90 minutes long.

Check in, relax and unwind before enjoying something to eat and drink. Later on you will depart on your first afternoon safari activity.

The Lodge
Changa Safari Camp is perfectly set in a remote and secluded part of the Matusadona National Park located in the heart of Lake Kariba. Boasting nearly 4km of lakeshore frontage, Changa Safari Camp offers a unique and authentic safari experience.
The main thatched area boasts a comfortable bar and lounge area, with the nearby swimming pool overlooking the lake.
Each one of the eight luxury tents has been created to reflect the environment, providing you with an authentic bush experience. The unique landscape surrounding Changa, provides each tent with its own breath-taking view of the unspoilt environment. Each tent provides comfortable twin or double beds, en-suite bathroom, outdoor bathtub, private deck and hammock.

There are a varied range of exciting and relaxing activities to choose from including both morning and afternoon game drives in Matusadona National Park, boat cruises, fishing for the famed fighting Tiger fish and stunning morning and afternoon game walks on the concession with an experienced and knowledgeable guide. Bird watching can also be done on either a gentle boat cruise or a game drive in the morning or afternoon.

The lodge also offers trips to the scenic Sanyati Gorge. The Sanyati Gorge is both unspoilt and undisturbed with an abundance of birdlife, the occasional sighting of antelope and great fishing. Don’t forget your camera and binoculars for this activity as the dramatic landscape will leave you speechless.

After breakfast, check out and make your way to the nearby airstrip for your charter flight transfer to Mana Pools National Park. On arrival you will be met by a representative of Nyamatusi Camp and transferred to the lodge.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Mana Pools National Park in northern Zimbabwe is one of the most remote and least developed safari parks in the country. A remote and truly 'African' safari park, Mana Pools National Park is located in the extreme north of Zimbabwe right on the majestic Zambezi River. Mana is simply bursting with birdlife and wildlife, especially during the dry season from June to October.

The Lodge
Set in one of the wildest and most remote parts of Africa, on the banks of one of the oldest rivers in the world, the newly built Nyamatusi Camp (opening April 2019) allows guests to experience an authentic view of the old untouched Africa.

The communal area reveals a two-storey timber-and-thatch structure with comfortable lounge and bar areas on both levels, and dining spaces on the ground floor. The fire-pit area offers a full ring of cushioned seating around the campfire, the perfect place to enjoy pre-dinner drinks and swap stories of your day on safari!

Consisting of six luxury tented suites with uninterrupted views of the river and escarpment beyond, the camp inspires a feeling of remoteness. Each tent features a spacious bedroom with mosquito net, lounge area, luxurious en-suite facilities, with indoor and outdoor showers, bathtubs, as well as a private deck, plunge pool, air-conditioning and mini bars. Designed following the principles of environmental consciousness and sustainability, the camp is completely solar powered with in-room charging facilities.

Activities and Wildlife
The camp offers morning and afternoon game drives, canoeing safaris, walking safaris and fantastic bird watching. Guests can also try their hand at catch-and-release fishing.

Mana Pools is made up of numerous water sources, in addition to river banks, sandbanks, islets, and forests. Four of the Big Five are in residence – lion, leopard, elephant, and buffalo. The smaller carnivore count includes cheetah, hyena, and occasional wild dog, while among the herbivores you can expect to see are zebra, warthog, waterbuck, eland, impala, monkey, and baboon. The rivers, streams, and pools are very popular with hippopotamus and crocodile, and you’ll be able to observe these species particularly closely during canoe trips from camp. Walking safaris will also present great opportunities for scrutiny of wildlife, not least the concession’s plants, insects, and hundreds of types of birds! This activity has a minimum age requirement of 16 years.
