Day to Day Itinerary

Board a flight from Johannesburg to Skukuza Airport in the Kruger National Park. On arrival, a ranger from the lodge will meet you and transfer you to the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. On arrival at Kirkman’s Camp, you have time to check in and freshen before lunch/afternoon tea is served and after this you will go on your first afternoon safari drive. Day turns to dusk where you will stop for a sundowner drink and snacks. Spotlights are turned on and the search for nocturnal predators begins in all earnest. Return to camp well after dark and freshen up. Dinner is a fancy affair with superb food prepared by top-class chefs. Lull yourself to sleep with the sound of roaring lions or the relaxing night sounds only the African bush can provide.

Daily early morning and afternoon game drives led by expert rangers and trackers are the perfect way to view the wildlife in comfort. You can also enjoy interesting guided bush walks which are a great way to learn about the fascinating flora and fauna in the region. A typical day might look something like this: Early morning An early start means an equally early wake-up call. Tea and coffee are served at about 6am and at sunrise you head off on your early-morning game-drive. Late morning After a few hours, you will either return to your camp for a hearty breakfast or have a bush breakfast out on the plains and then return just before the heat of the day. Lunch and afternoon You usually have lunch in the camp and spend the main part of the day either relaxing or using the amenities, such as an outdoor pool. Your ranger is always on standby for an educational bush walk. You might have something to eat and drink at around 3pm before heading out for another safari drive. Evening As with early morning, the evening game drive is often the best time to see the wildlife. Vehicles usually return just before dark in time for a shower, pre-dinner drinks and then dinner. The evenings are often rounded off with a few drinks around the campfire, warming toes and swapping safari stories.

Same as on Day 2

After your last morning safari activity, you will check out at around 11:00AM and be transferred to the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. Here you will be staying at Ngala Safari Lodge. Ngala Safari Lodge is a gracious, colonial-style safari lodge set on the very edge of the Kruger National Park in the Timbavati Game Reserve. Check in to your luxury cottage and enjoy a late lunch/afternoon tea. You will depart on your first afternoon safari drive late-afternoon. The afternoon game drive continues into the early evening with the use of powerful spotlights. Return to the lodge after dark and enjoy some time to freshen up before enjoying a delicious dinner in the dining room which open ups to the African bushveld.

Enjoy an early morning game drive with your ranger. Interpretive nature walks are also on offer. On your return breakfast will be enjoyed and after noon lunch will be served. The afternoon allows you some time to relax and enjoy the comforts of your cottage or the lodge amenities. Before venturing out again on your afternoon safari, enjoy some sweet and savoury treats for afternoon tea. Return to the lodge after dark and enjoy some time to freshen up before enjoying a delicious dinner in the dining room which open up to the African bushveld.

Today you can decide whether you want to take part in either a morning and afternoon game drive or an interpretive nature walk. Other activities on offer here include (at extra cost):
✓ Tracking Adventure on Foot
✓ Photographic Safari in Photographic Safari Vehicle
✓ Rhino Notching
✓ Ngala Safari Lodge Spa
