Eco-Friendly Big 5 Timbavati Safari

Board a direct flight from Johannesburg to Hoedspruit, your gateway to the Timbavati.

A short transfer will take you to Bateleur Safari Camp, situated in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve, an exclusive Big 5 wilderness area offering amazing sightings of the Big 5 and much more.

Lunch will be served soon after arrival, followed by time to relax and unwind before you enjoy your first guided safari activity, either a game drive or bush walk.

Return to camp after dark, freshen up and enjoy a delicious dinner served in the dining area overlooking the riverbed and the seasonal waterhole.

After dinner, relax around the fire and soak up the sounds of the African bush and wildlife all around you. Sleep safe and secure in spacious comfort in your large safari unit.

In the morning we set off at first light after a snack of biscuits or rusks and coffee or tea.

Breakfast is enjoyed back at the safari camp and then there is time to unwind and siesta during the heat of the day, making use of the swimming pool and central relaxation area or your comfortable safari unit. On one of the days you will be treated to very informative instruction relating to bushcraft survival skills.

A light lunch will be offered in the central dining area before it’s time to head out amongst the wildlife again.

Close to sunset we stop at a scenic location where we’ll have sun downers while enjoying a stunning African sunset. After dark spotlights are turned on and we search for the nocturnal creatures.

Back at the safari camp a hearty supper will be served at the central dining area with the sounds of the African bush all around. After dessert, a warm campfire will be waiting for you where stories are exchanged with your fellow travelers.

In the early hours, we embarked on our journey just as the sun began to rise, following a morning snack of biscuits or rusks and a cup of coffee or tea.

We spent our morning enjoying a meal at the safari camp before taking a break to relax and take a nap in the afternoon heat, utilizing the swimming pool and the main relaxation spot, or your cozy safari cabin. On one of the days, you'll have the opportunity to learn valuable skills in bushcraft survival.

For a light midday meal, we gathered in the central dining area before resuming our adventure among the animals.

As the evening approached, we paused at a picturesque spot to enjoy the sunset and have some refreshing drinks. Once it got dark, spotlights were activated, and we explored the nightlife of the area, looking for nocturnal animals.

Back at the safari camp, we enjoyed a substantial dinner at the central dining area, surrounded by the sounds of the African wilderness. After dessert, we gathered around a warm campfire, sharing stories with our fellow travelers.

After your last morning safari activity, and breakfast, check out and make your way back to the airport. From here you will fly back to Johannesburg.
