What to expect?

Day 1 - Depart for Victoria Falls & Sunset Cruise

Board your flight from O.R Tambo international airport in Johannesburg to Victoria Falls airport in Zimbabwe for the start of your amazing 10 day Adventure in the heart of Africa!

As you descend to the Vic falls, catch your first glimpse of the “Mosi-oa-Tunya" - The Smoke That Thunders - as the local tribes call it. Our ground handler at the airport will meet up with you and transport you to your hotel for check in.

There is something to do for everyone at the Victoria Falls. Go on the world’s wildest white-water-rafting trip, bungee jump off the 111-meter high bridge, zip-lining the flying fox across the river, kayaking, do a heart stopping gorge swing, and many more. An activities list will be provided before you arrive.

A complimentary sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River is the perfect way to end the day. Drinks and snacks are included and you might get the chance to see hippo, crocodile and elephant!

Day 2 - Explore the Victoria Falls

Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast before the day starts. You have tour of the majestic Victoria Falls today with your qualified guide. He will pick you up from your hotel and show you the Falls up close. This tour is quite fascinating as you learn more about one of the 7 natural wonders of the world!

David Livingstone, the Scottish missionary and explorer, is believed to have been the first European to view Victoria Falls on 16 November 1855, from what is now known as Livingstone Island, one of two land masses in the middle of the river, immediately upstream from the falls on the Zambian side. Livingstone named his discovery in honour of Queen Victoria of Britain, but the indigenous Tonga name, Mosi-oa-Tunya—"The Smoke That Thunders"—continues in common usage as well. The World Heritage List officially recognizes both names.

Day 3 - Leisure Day

The Royal Livingstone Hotel is by far the most beautiful and best located hotel at Victoria Falls. On the banks of the Zambezi River, Royal Livingstone Hotel is named after the legendary explorer who named Zambia’s iconic waterfall in honour of his queen. Paying tribute to this glorious era, the hotel evokes Victorian elegance and colonial traditions in impeccable style, and offers unforgettable adventures.

Day 4 - Transfer to Chobe National Park

Our ground handlers will pick you up after breakfast and transfer across the border into Botswana - Chobe National Park. Chobe has the highest concentration of elephants on the African continent. This Park is especially famous for its large numbers of wildlife that roam the riverbanks and wetlands of this massive conservation area.

Check into your lodge, freshen up and have a drink on the deck overlooking the Zambezi River before your first afternoon safari in open 4x4 vehicle with your qualified ranger.

Return to camp for a wonderful dinner in the boma area before retiring for the evening.

Day 5 & 6 - Safari in Chobe

Enjoy one more full day in the Chobe National Park. Land based safaris are conducted in open top 4×4 vehicles and water borne safaris by boats. It is sure to bring you within meters of the wildlife and renders the perfect opportunity for stunning photos.

A typical day in Chobe National Park is as follows:

  • 6:00 Tee and coffee is served
  • 6:30 Depart for a morning safari activity
  • 9:30 Return to camp for breakfast
  • 11:00 High-tee is served
  • 13:00 Lunch
  • 15:00 Evening safari activity
  • 19:00 Return to camp
  • 20:00 Dinner
Day 7 - Flight to the Okavango Delta

After breakfast you will be transferred to the nearby Kasane airport for your charter flight to your lodge in the Okavango Delta.

The Okavango Delta comprises permanent marshlands and seasonally flooded plains. It is one of the very few major interior delta systems in the world that do not flow into a sea or ocean, with a wetland system that is almost intact. One of the unique characteristics of the site is that the annual flooding from the River Okavango occurs during the dry season, with the result that the native plants and animals have synchronized their biological cycles with these seasonal rains and floods. The Okavango Delta is home to some of the world’s most endangered species of large mammal, such as the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dog and lion.

Check into the lodge before your first water-bound safari activity after which you will return to camp. Freshen up before dinner is served.

Day 8 & 9 - Delta Safari

Water-based activities are conducted by experienced professional guides who will expertly navigate guests through the many meandering, reed-lined waterways. Roam the vast expanses of water from the comfort of a modern motorboat or explore the intricacies of the Okavango Delta the quiet old-fashioned way, in the traditional mokoro (dugout canoe).

For those wanting to get a little closer to nature, guided bush walks are conducted on a number of the nearby islands, offering an opportunity to track some of the larger land-based species that inhabit this water wilderness. Birding opportunities are outstanding and anglers may put their skill against bream and tiger fish. Camp Okavango is a water-based camp and game-drive activities, using safari vehicles, are not possible.

Day 10 - Return to Johannesburg

After breakfast you will be transferred to the lodge airfield for your private charter flight back to Kasane airport. From here you will be transferred by road to Victoria Falls airport. Board your flight back to Johannesburg remembering all to well the amazing experience you had the last 10 days!

You may leave Africa,

but Africa will never leave you!
