There is something to do for everyone at the Victoria Falls. Go on the world’s wildest white-water-rafting trip, bungee jump off the 111-meter high bridge, zip-lining the flying fox across the river, kayaking, do a heart stopping gorge swing, and many more. An activities list will be provided before you arrive.
A complimentary sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River is the perfect way to end the day. Drinks and snacks are included and you might get the chance to see hippo, crocodile and elephant!
Enjoy a scrumptious breakfast before the day starts. You have tour of the majestic Victoria Falls today with your qualified guide. He will pick you up from your hotel and show you the Falls up close. This tour is quite fascinating as you learn more about one of the 7 natural wonders of the world!
David Livingstone, the Scottish missionary and explorer, is believed to have been the first European to view Victoria Falls on 16 November 1855, from what is now known as Livingstone Island, one of two land masses in the middle of the river, immediately upstream from the falls on the Zambian side. Livingstone named his discovery in honour of Queen Victoria of Britain, but the indigenous Tonga name, Mosi-oa-Tunya—"The Smoke That Thunders"—continues in common usage as well. The World Heritage List officially recognizes both names.
After your guided tour the rest of the day will be at leisure before dinner is served in The Boma Restaurant!
"Enjoy an unforgettable evening at The Boma Restaurant Victoria Falls. Devour a delicious dinner followed by an interactive drum show. On arrival you will be presented with a traditional robe to get you into the mood. Prepare to be immersed in the vibrant atmosphere. Aromas of local dishes and game meat on the barbeque fill the restaurant. The Boma is partially open to the African skies and offers a unique experience. Your senses will be bombarded with the tastes, sights and sounds and smells of Africa. Enjoy the warmth and hospitality of Zimbabwe and it’s people."
After breakfast you will be picked up by your driver and transported to the Hwange National Park located about two hours’ drive from Victoria Falls.
Hwange National Park is located in the northwest corner of Zimbabwe and covers an area of 14,651km. This park is well-known for its large herds of elephants which are famous across Africa and with over 100 species of mammals, you are guaranteed to have wonderful animal sightings.
You will arrive in time for lunch and after lunch you will go on your first sunset safari in Open vehicle with your qualified ranger.
As a guest of The Hide Lodge you can simply choose to enjoy a sundowner from the lodge deck overlooking the waterhole and witness herds of animals coming down to drink at dusk or you can be a bit more adventurous and get right close up to large herds of elephants and buffalo at the Private Hide, which provides excellent photographic opportunities.
You will have a morning and evening safari in open safari vehicle. All your meals and drinks are included.
After your last morning safari in Hwange National Park you can enjoy breakfast before you will be picked up by your driver and transported across the border into Botswana - Chobe National Park. After breakfast, you will be transferred to the nearby Kasane airport for your charter flight to your lodge in the Okavango Delta.
The Okavango Delta comprises permanent marshlands and seasonally flooded plains. It is one of the very few major interior delta systems in the world that do not flow into a sea or ocean, with a wetland system that is almost intact. One of the unique characteristics of the site is that the annual flooding from the River Okavango occurs during the dry season, with the result that the native plants and animals have synchronized their biological cycles with these seasonal rains and floods. The Okavango Delta is home to some of the world’s most endangered species of large mammal, such as the cheetah, white rhinoceros, black rhinoceros, African wild dog and lion.
Check into the lodge before your first water-bound safari activity after which you will return to camp. Freshen up before dinner is served.
Camp Okavango is a pure water paradise and gives you the chance to experience a true Okavango Delta safari. All activities are conducted by experienced professional guides. Explore the crystal-clear waterways by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) or motorboat, and enjoy the magnificent variety of bird, plant and reptile species found in the area.
Birding is absolutely spectacular, especially during the summer months when the migrant birds come to breed. Your experienced guide will also take you on a guided nature walk on surrounding islands in the concession, giving you the chance to experience nature up close and personal. Fishing for bream and tiger fish is also offered as an activity at the lodge.
Choose from a variety of activities that Camp Okavango has to offer!
***Camp Okavango is a water-based camp and safari drive activities, using safari vehicles, are not possible.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the lodge airfield for your private charter flight back to Kasane airport. From here you will be transferred by road to Victoria Falls airport. Board your flight back to Johannesburg remembering all too well the amazing experience you had the last 12 days!
