A World-Class City Nestled at the Foot of Table Mountain

Cape Town, nicknamed the Mother City, is arguably one of the most beautiful cities in the world offering an excellent all-in-one city-safari experience with its beautiful beaches, breath-taking landscapes, award-winning wineries and mouth-watering cuisine. Here you will also find the renowned Table Mountain, one of the newly proclaimed natural wonders of the world. The inner-city offers the historic Company’s Garden, Castle of Good Hope and numerous art and history museums. The Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden set on the slopes of the mountain is without doubt one of the most beautiful gardens in the world. A Cape Peninsula day tour takes you along the renowned Chapman’s Peak Drive with its exquisite views to the town of Hout Bay and its large seal colonies, Boulders Beach and its cute penguins and Cape Point, where the Indian and Atlantic Oceans meet. The city is also within easy reach of the Cape Winelands and the town of Hermanus along the Whale Route.

A Cosmopolitan City Rich in Culture and History

Cape Town is a city rich in cultural and historical gems and its origins are hidden in historical streets, monuments, museums, landmarks, architecture, and its spirited Cape Town people. Head to the inner-city on a half-day guided walk and visit Greenmarket Square, the Company Gardens and Castle of Good Hope. Situated in the Gardens, the Iziko South African Museum is the country’s oldest museum showcasing more than a million specimens of historical and natural importance. The Bo-Kaap is a multi-cultural area of Cape Town, tucked away near Signal Hill. Explore Muslim cultural history and heritage, via the cobbled streets and colourful 18th century homes. Visit South Africa’s first Muslim mosque and sample traditional Cape Malay cuisine. Also take a ferry to Robben Island, a World Heritage site, which served as a place of banishment, isolation and imprisonment to key political figures like Nelson Mandela.

The Cape Peninsula Drive – Miles of Incredible Scenery and Marine life

A day tour along the Cape Peninsula is one of the most perfect drives in the world. Highlights of this tour include viewing a large seal colony in Hout Bay, viewing the famous African penguin colony of Boulders Beach just outside Simon’s Town, and standing at the southernmost tip of the African continent in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Here you can choose to walk or take the funicular to the top, aptly named Cape Point, for incredible ocean and mountain views. The tour is concluded with a breath-taking drive back to the city on Chapman’s Peak Drive, another highlight along this route. This winding road hugs the mountainside, with treacherous drops on one side and there are jaw-dropping views of the cliffs and ocean around every corner as you head back to Cape Town.

Venture Beyond the City where More Adventure Awaits

Cape Town is your gateway to other fantastic destinations, just a couple of hours away. Heading inland, the Cape Winelands of the Western Cape are one of the big draw cards to South Africa that manage to effortlessly combine the beauty of ripening vineyards, award-winning wines, Cape Dutch manor homes and excellent cuisine in valleys surrounded by indigo mountains. The towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek are within easy reach of Cape Town and are some of the oldest towns in the country with a rich history and culture. Further east, you will find Hermanus, the world’s foremost land-based whale watching destination with a special fisherman’s village charm. The popular resort town offers travelers access to a range of exciting outdoor activities, including hiking trails, beaches, shark-cage diving, boating, horse rides, whale cruises and flights and the Hermanus Wine Route just a short drive away.
