After a pleasant drive through the town in your sidecar, we head out for some wine tasting at one of the many wine estates along the route. After the tasting, load up your wine purchases in the sidecar and drive in the direction of Paarl where we will enjoy a Karoo lamb-on-the-spit BBQ at Backsberg for lunch.

Seeing that Backsberg is a wine estate, we might just as well do some more wine sampling!
We head towards Seidelberg Wine Estate after lunch for one last wine tasting. We also visit their glass-blowing studio. After the visit, its back on the sidecar and a leisurely return to the city with Table Mountain bathed in afternoon sunlight. The rest of the day and evening is at leisure.

DAY 4 – Winelands
Travelling up the West Coast from Cape Town takes us to the town of Darling, best known for its Wild Flower and Orchid Show in September. We stop over at Yzerfontein, a small holiday and fishing village. There is a deserted beach ideal for sun tanning and surfing.

We continue our journey to the Langebaan Lagoon in the heart of the West Coast. Archaeological discoveries made are dating back as far as 10 million years ago. A pair of fossilized footprints by an early human female (called “Eve”), were also discovered, and estimated to be around 117 000 years old.
At Langebaan, we partake in a powerboat-racing excursion on the lagoon, which is perfect and safe for such an adventure. The boat is designed in such a way that it is safe and dry even in bad weather conditions with rough waters. This is an exhilarating experience and not to be missed for all the money in the world!

After working up a great appetite, lunch is served at an open-air seafood restaurant on the beach! Traditional treats include, paella “potjie” (pot) rich in calamari, angel fish and snoek (fish), smoked angel fish, snoek with sweet or steamed potato, plus waterblommertjie bredie – a traditional dish.
Our next stop is Paternoster after lunch adjacent to the Cape Columbine Nature reserve. Paternoster is one of the last traditional fishing villages on the West Coast and by far one of the most romantic spots around the South African coastline.

Heading back for Cape Town, we stop over at Clara Anna Fontein for a wildlife safari. Clara Anna is a private game reserve in the Durbanville wine valley and it is the only wildlife reserve within the greater Cape Metropolitan area. The common word in Africa used for a “game” actually refers to wildlife, hosting wild animals similar to the Kruger National Park.

Ending our safari, we enjoy a traditional South African “braai” (barbeque) in the Boma at Clara Anna Fontein – the perfect ending of “just another fantastic day in paradise”.

Overnight: Leisure Bay Hotel                                    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 5 – Quad bikes
A big breakfast is needed this morning as we head out on a quad bike excursion in the dunes followed by a light lunch. After lunch, we enjoy an exhilarating helicopter flip with a difference. We will fly in a Huey helicopter and experience the ultimate adrenalin flight over the wild West Coast. Feel the thrill of low flying and sharp maneuvering over land and sea with open doors as the helicopter simulates a tour through the combat zone!

You will have some leisure time this afternoon before departing to visit the popular Barnyard Theatre where an amazing evening of entertainment awaits us. Enjoy a picnic dinner and drinks during the show while listening to a live musical show.

Overnight: Leisure Bay Hotel                                    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
